The symbols of the Argentario

The official coat of arms of the Monte Argentario coat of arms, granted by decree issued by the Head of Government on April 24, 1929, is as follows:

«TRONCATO: in the first of blue, with two silver mountains; in the second to the natural sea, with an anchor of black, gomenata of the same, crossing on the truncation. External ornaments of the municipality »

The blazoning of the banner is instead the following:

“At the center of blue, the emblem of the City Council, supported at the base by two dolphins in love (meaning Porto S. Stefano and Porto Ercole) which have their respective letters on the sides: PSS and PE; framed by four red bands, on the left, by a golden olive tree, on the right by a wreath of vine and bunches of golden grapes (representing the agricultural characteristics of the promontory) and at the bottom by a flight of black swallows (to represent tourism). »

The banner boasts the banner of Comune Garibaldino.

The Municipality also has a flag that, together with the national and the European Union flag, will be exhibited, in the Civic Building and in the Delegation, whenever the City Council will be in session, or in civil meetings. This flag, divided into vertical blue, white and light blue bands, of which the central white is double the blue of each side band; in the center will be shown the municipal coat of arms referred to in the first paragraph, surrounded by the same gold of the European Community.
